Last night I ordered a new DMX light controller. This will give me more control over my LED par cans, enabling me to produce better quality light shows for my own band and performances, not to mention other performers I work with.
On Satuday 22 November at 2 pm, I will be running a 2 hour, crowd funded ukulele workshop in Barnstaple. Do come join me, I'll supply the ukes, you'll have a great time.

I received a phone call enquiring about my guitar lessons. It was a very 'everyday' enquiry that covered all the usual questions. The enquirer wanted lessons for her son and agreed to all my terms. The conversation went on.
Me 'so, what is your sons name'?
Enquirer '**** McCartney'.
I quipped, 'well that's a great name for a guitar player.'
To my surprise, the enquirer replied, 'actually he is related to Paul McCartney, his father is Paul McCartney's second cousin'.
This one could be a natural!

This this week only, I will be taking over the twitter account of @peopleofdevon
I have done it before, I don't know if anyone else has ever had a second crack at running this great twitter account. I'm not sure if the administrators of this account have had me back because I did a good job last time, or because they felt I was so bad I need to do the job again. Anyway, so carry on following my usual twitter account @paulkclews and let me know how I get on with @peopleofdevon. If you leave a comment here, I may give you a retweet.
Different kinds of people, from all over Devon get to have a go at running the account,, telling world about the county. Each week someone new takes over account. Why not apply, it's great fun, brings a new audience to you, and adds followers to your own account.
To apply to run the @peopleofdevon account for a week, contact @devon_hour on twitter.

Following the devastating fire at June Booth's home last week, Ilfracombe Ukulele Club are organising a benefit gig at Larkstone Cafe on Saturday 10th May. This will feature many local bands and solo performers (yet to be confirmed), plus a stint by the club. June lived right in the heart of our community, a stones throw from the cafe, where the club meet, and even closer to one of our members Lucy. We will be organising a raffle, and are looking for donations of prizes. If you'd like to donate, please contact me in any way you like. Cash donations can be made directly to June at Lloyds bank Ilfracombe. Sort code 30.94.52 account no. 00318046 stating fire appeal. Please let's all pull together to help June with this most difficult situation she has unfortunately found herself in. It's great so see so many already have. We can be very proud of the wonderful people that reside on our town. It has also shown social media in positive light.

On the 12th April I will be taking part in National Learn an Instrument Day's called Play it Today, hosted by Soundpad in Barnstaple. The idea is to inspire people to take up a musical instrument.
I have been invited, as one of the leading local music teachers to be instore to talk to people, and to show them some basics on guitar and ukulele. Often, people do not know where to go for advice when learning an instrument. Play it Today is a great opportunity for people to try a new instrument and get all the advice they need to start playing. If you are interested in taking up music, even if it is not guitar or ukulele, pop along and say hello.
